A Legacy of Hope, Possibility and New Beginnings

This website has grown from a friendship, a shared vision and a desire to continue a legacy that touched many lives.

The Story Behind Future Intentions

In 2016, my dear friend Liz Hempshall founded Future Intentions Yorkshire CIC.

Liz had a remarkable gift for seeing potential in people, often long before they could see it in themselves. She believed that everyone deserved encouragement, support and the opportunity to explore new possibilities, whatever their age or circumstances.

Lix Bowers (Hempshall)

Through Future Intentions Yorkshire, she created a welcoming and supportive community, helping women build confidence, rediscover purpose and take steps towards the future they hoped for.

Her kindness, wisdom and unwavering belief in others inspired many people to embrace change, dream again and recognise the strengths they already possessed.

Sadly, Liz passed away in May 2026.  Her loss was deeply felt by her family, friends and everyone whose lives she touched.

Yet her legacy lives on.

Becoming the Custodian of a Legacy

Following the decision to close Future Intentions Yorkshire CIC, I had  conversations with Liz’s husband, Chris, and her daughter, Kerry.

Together, we spoke about the importance of preserving the values and spirit of Future Intentions.

I made it clear that I could never replace Liz, nor take over the CIC itself.

But I did feel called to continue a small part of what she had created.

Judy Illing

With the support and blessing of her family, I have become the custodian of Liz’s legacy through the creation of Future Intentions for Women.

This is not a continuation of the CIC that I was a director off,  nor is it intended to recreate the wonderful work that Liz did.

Instead, it is a gentle legacy project inspired by her values and her belief that it is never too late to embrace new possibilities.

A Personal Note from Judy Illing

I have spent much of my life supporting others through caring responsibilities, volunteering, community projects and my own business journey.

Like many women, I understand that life does not always go according to plan.

I also understand that every ending can bring the possibility of a new beginning.

Creating Future Intentions for Women feels like a natural next chapter—one that honours a treasured friendship and continues to encourage women to believe in themselves and the possibilities ahead.

I hope this website becomes a place of inspiration, reflection and gentle encouragement.

A place where women feel seen, supported and hopeful about the future.

Most of all, I hope it continues the spirit of kindness and possibility that Liz shared so generously with others.

In Memory of Liz Bowers (Hempshall)

Founder of Future Intentions Yorkshire CIC (2016–2026)

A woman who encouraged others to believe in themselves, embrace change and discover new possibilities.

Her legacy continues to inspire these pages and the women who visit them.

Giving Back

As this legacy project grows, it is our hope that it will also support causes that were close to our hearts, including local community initiatives and organisations that empower and support women.

In this way, Liz’s kindness and generosity can continue to make a difference.

Plant the seed.

Take the step.

Trust what may grow.
